Hello everyone. This is not the nicest of subjects, but it may bring a smile to the pub regulars. I was reminded about it yesterday when I read posts from Yorkie and I think Ian in another thread which I cannot find today---it was about continental toilets.
Anyway, a few days ago I just happened to spot a small note in a Goa newspaper. Apparently the habit of publicly spending a penny, or a rupee, in full view of whoever might go past, India accounts for60 percent of the total worlds sightings.
This made me think. Who or what did this research? Imagine the sits vacant columns. Wanted. Staff to go on a tour of the world, all expenses paid. No experience necessary, just a pen and a notebook, maybe a pocket calculator, and a pair of eyes. Oh, and maybe a strong stomach. See you in a years time. Mike

Evening all, hope you all had a good day.

I was enjoying my day until a local candidate out canvassing for the forthcoming elections, stopped me and said "I know you don't I? Aren't you the caretaker at Trinity Church?"
I was mulling that one over as I drove out of town and met Johnny "Pondo" on his bike approaching Maesdu Bridge - he gave the car in front of me, the two fingers' sign and then promptly did it to me. What did I do to deserve that? Absolutely nothing. He really does seem to be more 'eccentric' than ever these days - he was walking in the middle of the road with his bike the other day!

Pint please.

Should we know 'Johnny Pondo' Stan?

Is he a local 'character' of sorts?

Not really Dave, as I am not in the candidate's ward. I have been called a few things in the past but never been called a caretaker!!

Family members who are visiting me this week did the Little Orme / Angel Bay walk today.

What struck them most, is just how many dogs are running around the place, and not on leashes either.

I recall Merddin Emrys telling me that he was concerned by the very high number of dogs in the Penrhyn Bay area. (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong Andy)

What makes me sick is when I get accosted by unleashed dogs, that jump up at me, slobbering everywhere.... and the owners utter something like... ''oh he's just being friendly,''   or excited... or sociable....
Well, I'm not having it...

The next unleashed dog that tries to be sociable with me, will get the thick end of my size 10's.  WWW

i had one jump up at me there on Friday, the fact that it left a dirty mark on my light pants didn't seem to bother the owner, but it was a lovely little dog , couldn't help but stroke it.

Too many uncontrolled dogs was one of the reasons we moved from Penrhyn Bay, it was sometimes quite smelly there too! Some months ago at the West Shore an enormous hound not on a lead came rushing up and jumped up and slobbered all over Erindoors' coat  $angry$ I had a right go at the woman owner and insisted that it was put on a lead or I would report her for it! She was not bothered saying "it's just a puppy, blah blah"after more words from me the thing was put on a lead!  It had nearly knocked my wife over, but this woman was not at all concerned  :rage: hopefully she will control the beast in future!

As a dog owner I agree that dogs should kept under control I always put my dog on a lead when I see other people or dogs. I do let him run around other wise he would go mad. A family were walking towards me one day on a narrow path so I put the dog on his lead the mother spotted us and started to shout at her kids that there was dog she got closer and started to scream as did her two young kids at this point my dog thought we were under attack and started to bark. She then had to cheek to tell me I had a nasty dog. I dont think it's fair to label dogs as a problem it's always the owners I also think people in general should be more considerate to others out walking with or without dogs.

I never let my dog off the lead-- I daren't or I would never catch him-- but am amazed how many parents allow small children to rush up and throw their arms round a strange dog.
I am also surprised how many dog owners allow their dogs to run unchecked on the pavements without a lead.

When I lived in suburbs of Romford (Essex), about 57 years ago, the Council implemented a by-law prohibiting dogs to be off the lead anywhere in the community.   There were never any stray dogs, the pavements were clean, children were not attacked and all in all it proved to be a very sensible solution to the doggy problem.

I have had dogs myself so do appreciate the need for exercise and the restrictive issues associated with having to be on a lead all the time.  Mine got her running around in the back garden or a run with me (I was much fitter in those days).

One thing I always did with every dog I had was start training it from day one and didn't give up until it was fully trained.   Saves a whole lot of bother later on if everyone did it.

I can't wait until tomorrow as Socs is coming for the week again and I'm off work...whoopy doo...(dancing a little jig) I have to practice walking for my sponsored 18 mile trek from Beaumaris over to Moelfre (not a clue where it is I might add) it's in aid of the Blind Service Mens charity (St Dunstans) I've raised over £200 so far  ;D
