Absolutely!. Again a great goal from Steph Houghton - sheer class worthy of the very best in football. Great goalkeeping too from Karen Bardsley. It's surely too early to be talking about gold, but this underrated team have the best chance so far of a gold medal in terms of skill, commitment and determination. All the other GB hopefuls seem to have been far too overhyped by the media and have disappointed themselves and the British people as a result. I would love it if the ladies won the football as it would be a real kick in the locogs for Sepp Blatter who said some dreadful things about the womens game some years ago.
It was a terrible show of bad sportsmanship in the Badminton I agree. Both teams should have been disqualified (there is a sanction available in the rules for unsporting behaviour) as a deterrant to others. But staying with China, I think the USA should stop with all the insulting speculation about Ye Shiwen. The only drugs reference you can use in the same breath as mentioning her name is that she swam like a heroine. She has been officially declared drugs free. The USA should accept that - they are beginning to look like bad losers for going on and on about it now.
I will be happy if the only gold we win is the ladies football but of course I am hoping for a few more!.
