The Daffodils I planted in pots on the front door steps have taken a hammering this Winter from the storms and gale force winds so I lifted the bulbs up yesterday and planted Giant Begonias in them ready for the Summer.    One pot still remains that survived the weather and the Daffodils still remaining are the Alfred variety, a late flowering type on shorter stems

I was back at the garden Centre in Kinmel Bay this weekand came away with three shrubs, another of my gardening mistakes is planting things too close together so this time  I hope that I've given them room to spread out

Two weeks ago my brother painted my wooden decking and we were very pleased with the end result.
On Wednesday Mrs H and I were having breakfast in our Sun lounge when she noticed a pile of soil and stones on the decking so we went to investigate and looked over the low brick wall to se a very large hole with a swarm of Bees in a very agitated state and it took us a few minutes to realise what had happened
Unknown to us there must have been a large Bees nest in the ground by the wall and the Badger had dug the nest up
It took us a while to fill in the hole and secure it to prevent the Bees and Bagers returning  and I had to repair the wire fence yet again
It's the first time this has happened  in the 40 years we have lived here but I hope that it's the last
