I find the story about Christina Nichols rather a sad one. Of course she should not have done what she did, but when I read of a person driven to drink and desperation by whatever problems, I think 'there but for the grace of God'. I don't really see what benefit it did anyone making a big splash of the story in the Weekly News.

A friend of mine has just visited Conwy after touring the South West for a number of weeks, she commented how shabby the town looked, no decent flower displays, scruffy flags flying, no smart street furniture. For a tourist town it is just not good enough. We have an amazing back drop, The Castle, The Walls and the Quay ( although the Quay is in need of TLC )  :'(

LOOK: First images of £1m restaurant close to Conwy castle

These are the first images of a proposed £1m restaurant in the shadow of Conwy castle that would create 40 jobs in the town.

That image would look a lot better WITHOUT the restaurant.

There are more than enough places to eat in Conwy for such a tiny town anyway. I recommend the Castle

Hi Fester, found this...

Plans to build a 40 job restaurant and shop development in shadow of Conwy Castle have been submitted

The piece of land formerly occupied by Billington’s Garage on the outskirts of Conwy is now an empty site after eyesore garage buildings were demolished last year.

Restaurant proposal in shadow of Conwy castle is recommended for refusal by planners

Does anyone have a report on the Conwy food festival. Was it worth the entrance fee ? I know so many locals who won't pay the price to enter somewhere that gives nothing back other than the opportunity to spend more ! Maybe someone can change that view from the personal experience of a visit.
