Good place to film a Bran Flakes Advert.

How do you like your eggs done?
Have you seen the milkman?
Do you know you've got a wasp in your ear....
But ask about the Bran Flakes,
That's a different matter, and then you'll hear...
They're tasty, tasty, very very tasty, they're very tasty!

Hate branflakes and adverts but i do like a spooky story. Large wasps nests on the other hand are very real problem and i was glad of the warning as quite often taking the kids through there i wouldnt have known  :P

I have a large wasp's nest in my front garden hedge.  The little blighters are coming and going all the time but have not bothered us so far.  The bin men come tomorrow so the wasps will probably be flying around the waste and recycling stuff, just hope the men don't get attacked. :o

Fester - Great idea and I claim all the film rights! To make it even more dramatic we thought they were bees at first which my husband is allergic to, he carries now an epi pen after ending up in hospital a few years ago with anaphylatic shock. So, in the film it would be swarm of bees we disturbed  ;)

Linda - Please remember this was in the old Church graveyard and not the adjacent newer public cemetery, although the wasps did follow us into there. Spooky graveyards don't bother me, it's the living that worry me more! However, wasps - well they scare the 'life' out of me.

The Church say they have no funds to maintain/renovate this graveyard. I note the Heritage Lottery Fund operates a grant known as ‘Parks for People’ programme, which includes cemeteries, and wonder if the Church has considered an application. Unfortunately I am not sure how enthusiastic they would be - just a feeling I got when I rang about the wasps nest. I also appreciate an awful lot of work goes into a grant application.

I dont blame you for being worried over the wasps/bees if one of you is allergic. We have a problem with one of our grandchildren, Peanut allergy so i syphathize. I will inform my daughter its the old part with the nest. Its just when you posted she had earlier said about walking through a lot of overgrown stuff down there and i thought i would warn her and remember myself. Yes and it is the Living you have to worry about  ;)

Wasps are being unusually persistent at the moment. We'll all need to start breeding bee-eaters (apparently, they're not too picky) and have them tethered to our shoulders when walking.   :D

Part of Conwy quay was sealed off last evening following the discovery of a 'live' shell being washed ashore. A bomb disposal squad dealt with it and the area was soon restored to normal. I am told it is not unusual for this to happen in the Conwy estuary!

Good Afternoon-new to the forum but would appreciate your thoughts on our efforts to progress towards a Community TV channel for the Conwy County-My name is Mark CLEMSON and together with my Co Director Debbie BRADEN we are working towards OFCOM status and obtaining a licence to operate a TV channel.Currently operating via a dedicated website at www.tvconwy.co.uk we aim to develop in order to establish ourselves as a focal point for community events, news, projects, organisations to name but a few.
We also want to develop media training and potentially offer employment.
We currently engage with a variety of educational establishments and plan to encourage more and more organisations locally in order that we can operate with the support of the community.

Are you doing anything with Coleg Llandrillo? The media department there is pretty good. Could be an excellent show case for student's videos

TVConwy have already linked in with Llandrillo College encouraging a number of the Media students to get involved.

We believe that offering them the opportunity to work in a "realtime" situation and obtaining Work Experience stands them in good stead for their respective futures.

Several members of our team who are currently students at the college are actively involved in photography,interviewing,editing and filming a number of events that we have already covered including;

Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza,Abergele Autumn Fest, Cambrian Rally 2013,The Event (Conwy Civic Hall-Music Event),The E Fest (Music Event-Llandudno), Pentre Mawr Observation Platform Opening,Conwy Youth Festival,Katwalk for Kili-Fashion Show (Imperial Hotel) (Charity event for Victim Support),Interview of Michelle PAVER-Award winning childrens author - this occurred at the Copper Mines-Great Orme.

This and others have been completed since our launch in March/April of this year with very limited resources.

We have also launched our own website which contains a variety of local information concerning Whats On,Local News links,Weather,Tide Timetables and of course features our filmed events etc.

We also have a budding sports journalist on board who reports on Conwy Borough FC and several other sports within the County.

We have an ex Award winning Editor who we look towards for advice etc.

I maybe should point out that everyone including Debbie BRADEN and myself who are involved with TVConwy do so for NO payment and it is a credit to those community spirited individuals  that we have managed to progress and develop in the way we have.
