Every GP practice now has to offer online booking

From today, every GP practice in England will have to offer online appointment bookings throughout the day.

The move, ordered by the government, is aimed at reducing the so-called '8am scramble' to get through to practices on the phone.

Surgeries will have to provide the service from 08:00 to 18:30 Monday to Friday.

Llanrhos's Maes Dolau Caravan Park marks 75th anniversary

Maes Dolau Caravan Park, in Llanrhos, is marking the milestone with a series of events, some involving the owners of the 100 holiday caravans in its grounds.

They will include fundraising activities for Manchester's Christie Hospital which has been adopted by Maes Dolau as its 2025 charity of the year.

The park was founded in 1950 and taken on in 1994 by former poultry farmer Rikki Proffitt and his wife Helen whose daughter Kelly today runs the business.

Seven million UK households will see one bill increase from today
The energy price cap has now gone up

The energy price cap will rise by 2% from Wednesday for a typical household in England, Scotland and Wales, just as cooler temperatures see many switching on their central heating.

This means that the energy bill for the average household paying by direct debit for gas and electricity will rise from the current £1,720 to £1,755 per year.

One of the linked stories was about scaling Llewelyn peak and finding the wind was too strong to pitch their tents. Yet just over a mile away on a gently sloping path is the Foel Grach refuge, which would have provided them with shelter until daylight.,

Incredible, how unprepared folk are.
