The sunset last night wasn't as good as the previous night but it was still nice to watch.    We are able to see the Isle of Man from here because of the height where we live.    It's 61  miles away and Northern Island is 126 miles away as the Crow flies.
I've attached a few photos of some of the Sunsets that we have had from here in the past.

There's a significant lack of planning and simply brains in terms of anticipating the effects of weather on activities, too. Five extreme running events on Snowdon were given the chop, with the organisers saying "Due to extreme temperatures, it is no longer safe to continue with the event....Our top priority is the safety and wellbeing of all participants. Please bear with us as we focus on ensuring everyone returns safely."

Shame, really, that they hadn't checked with the Met Office prior to starting the thing.

In the recent heat waves it's important to have water available for the birds and animals that visit your garden so I make sure that all the bowls are topped up.
In the centre of our back garden we have an old dog bowl that all the birds use and this week I saw a Magpie go for a drink in it and then it tried to have a bath in it but it was too big for the bowl but it seemed to enjoy splashing about in the water.
We do have a bird bath and the Blackbirds are the funnies ones to see.  Their wings splash the water so much that after they have finished bathing I have to top the water up

Iconic Pete's Eats in Llanberis to reopen this weekend and legendary item is staying on the menu
The cafe in Eryri National Park dates back to the 1970s

When we used to walk in the mountains it was always our tradition to go to Pete's Eats before the start of the walk.      A big breakfast and a "pint" of tea seemed a good idea at the time.      That was until I walked from Nant Peris to Elidir Fawr for the first time and that nearly finished me off.     Ever since that time I've carried the food in my rucksack and had a meal when we've got to the summit.

Yesterday evening the weather was perfect for seeing the sunset from our house in Colwyn Heights.     The sea was like a mill pond and the visibility was excellent.      We watched the sky continually changing colour as the Sun was setting and the Isle of Man was clearly visible, so too was part of Northern Ireland.
Conditions have to be right to see that far but in the past we have also seen the Cumbrian Hills and the Scottish lowlands have been visible from our lounge
