It's a massive job he's got but other young managers have been successful with other clubs.    I hope that he does well but he'll need a lot of luck on the way though.

I admire Brendan Rogers optimism. He is quoted in today's Daily Post as saying "I'll write my name into Kop folklore".

I'm not sure I share it.

AND NOW Paul Lambert from Norwich has been appointed Aston Villa's new manager. Only a few days ago he was quoted as saying that he was NOT leaving Norwich. There was a time when 'a man's word was his bond'!

England, two wins in two "warm-up" games for new manager Roy Hodgson, but let no one get carried away yet - they only scored one goal in each game.

HOWEVER, a win is a win, and this time they are going to the European Championships with no great expectations from anyone, so that could be a help!

Well expectations or not, England have topped the group and now play Italy next Sunday.

Well done to the new manager - he's certainly exceeded all expectations. There cannot be many people around who thought he was the right man for the job!

It is hard to believe I saw Roy Hodgson manage Viking FK, Stavanger in August 2005 playing against Rhyl in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup.

Its equally hard to believe that I met Roy Hodgson and his delightful wife on Llandudno Pier, just as he commenced his ill-fated tenure at Liverpool.

He was staying a few days at The Imperial Hotel,

A few years ago, I visited this museum when it was attached to Deepdale, the home of Preston North End.

It closed in 2010.

So Van Persie goes to Man Utd for £24m - is that why the Glasers sold some shares last week?

Please let Paris St Germain beat Valencia and Man Utd beat Real Madrid and then we might be able to watch Becksy at Old Trafford again!
