Perfect results!  3 points for the top team and the other two a stalemate!

Let's hope it stays that way too.      It would be a nice tribute to Jurgen Klopp for all that he has done for the club

The weather up here is wet and very misty with visibility down to about 100 yards so I'm going nowhere on this Bank Holiday Monday so I might as well watch Match of the Day again         ;D

Everton deducted two points for second breach of Premier League financial rules
The FA seem to be a bit slow in dealing with the Man City investigations,  why's that?

                                 Man  Utd  0    Arsenal  1
Arsenal beat a very poor Utd team but the chances of Arsenal winning the league depend on Man City losing their remaining games.  City have come into good form as they usually do in the second half of a season but Arsenal have been playing well too.

Man Utd  0    Liverpool FC  3
Man Utd got a thumping at Old Trafford but it was a good game to watch if you were a Liverpool supporter.      Liverpool's passing and attacking play was very good and I hope that Mo Salah will have a new contract to sign before the season ends as he was involved in all 3 goals

Man City also had a good away win at West Ham and Haaland  is just a goal machine with 7 goals in the first 3 games.     I still think that City will win the league again as there is no stopping them on their current form.   The only thing that could stop them winning the title again is if the FA deduct points off them for financial irregularities

                            Wolves 1   Man City 2
City extend their unbeaten run and go top of the Premier League although Liverpool are due to play later today.     It's early days but I can't see anyone being ahead of City at the end of the year.
Not unless the FA step in and conclude their long awaited investigation into City's financial irregularities

Another dodgy VAR decision, strange how the decisions always go to the wealthy teams.

Getting sick of it now !

                                   Liverpool FC   2    Chelsea  1
Liverpool had a good home win over an in form Chelsea and now go back to the top of the league but my money would still be on City finishing top of the league.
That's if the FA doesn't take any action against city on the 115 charges that they are facing for financial irregularities.    Mull has a point about the wealthy clubs because the FA were quick enough to deduct points from Everton last season

PS    Hope that you are safe and warm up there on the island Mull.     Storm Ashley should be a good test for that garage roof that you fixed a while ago

Erik ten Hag sacked by Manchester United: news and reaction – live
It's not unexpected,  the results have been bad and the team is poor so the manager is always the first to go.     I'm sure that his compensation will soften the blow of his sacking

Liverpool FC  2     Aston Villa 0
Liverpool overcome Aston Villa to go 5 points clear at the top of the league.       Man City lose  at Brighton but City always seem to be stronger towards the end of the season so it may be an interesting finish at the end of the season

                       Southampton 2    Liverpool FC  3
Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points but were forced to come from behind to earn a vital late win at struggling Southampton.    I  hope that Salah's contract is renewed before the end of the season because he's still in great form with two goals today

Man City  0     Tottenham Hotspur 4

A great away win for the Spurs but City should still come strong in the second half of the season

UEFA   Champions League            Liverpool FC  2   Real Madrid  0

Liverpool finally ended their Real Madrid curse as they maintained their flawless Champions League record with a fully deserved victory in a thrilling encounter at Anfield.

Three good points for Liverpool but City are going through a bad spell at the moment and must improve soon.
