Ive just been to check on the Cheshire cat ,Tweedle Dee and Teedle Dumb in the coach park on builders st,you will all be glad to know they are still there,a little faded already but their new homes are being dug as we speak, one outside the Lilly on the West Shore and the other two in Haulfre gardens ande they will be in place for the winter season.Oscar has been asking why the council has been funding the buisness as the people behind the Alice project are a money making buisness, they have forked out to buy the contents of the museum and as far as i know are looking for premises to put them on display again so i think the council are right to help this project but maybe a clause to get some money back if the whole thing is a success.

and when you see these three figures take a close look at the Tweedle brothers,i think they  look very much like Yorkie and Fester and the cat has a grin like DaveR.

To your knowledge, wrex, is there a good reason why their bank will not lend them the finance so they may rent premises to display the former stock of Muriel Ratcliffe’s ‘Rabbit Hole’?

It makes commercial sense as, no doubt, the directors of the Alice Company will eventually be retaining all the entrance fees.

Sad that the Rabbit Hole had to close, nice little attraction and so popular with foreign visitors. My daughter worked for Muriel for years so we were all a little sad when it closed. It was the venue for folk to see and understand the Alice in Wonderland connection to Llandudno. Someone should have introduced something similar to replace it.

Thanks Wrex, however I will have to reserve judgement until I have seen the actual figure that you have attributed as my likeness!  I hope you were being kind!   Or is that too much to hope?   ZXZ

Perhaps the idea of appealing for handouts is better than repaying a loan ?????

Which is why there is a case, Nem, for seeing funds going instead to voluntary not-for-profit groups like Friends of The Happy Valley so maybe Oscar has made a valid point after all.

I have often wondered why the Rabbit Hole closed.  Did the owner just get fed up, or wanted to retire and no one was interested in taking it on. Or had it just had its time and was no longer making money? Seems a shame
