As I passed Bodafon Field today I noticed that contractors were stripping a piece of land up near the Farm.  Anyone know what is going to be built?   WWW

wrex, in the past the Sandcastle Competition has been held on the sand at the bottom of the wooden pier opposite the Imperial Hotel.

It makes sense because the Imperial Hotel is the sponsor of the annual event.

Therefore, it follows that the organiser will always check the situation regarding the tide before setting a date and time for the event.

I am not an expert in building sandcastles but I would imagine it will be best to do with dry sand which suggests it will be better to arrange when the tide is coming in rather then just after it has gone out.

I believe they are laying the foundations for the new Mostyn Theme Park with associated camping and caravan site and youth hostel.

Didn't Bodafon Farm get planning permission to build a golf driving range?

Aren't they starting on the new Gogarth School some time soon also?

This report has just come through from the BBC which highlights the problem at the bottom of that wooden jetty.

Also, judging from the bottom photo it does look as if sandcastles are best built from wet sand.

Why don't they move sand from West Shore to North Shore beach?

Errrm... could the Imperial Hotel sponsored Sandcastle Competition not just be held at West Shore?

Or is that just too simple?     ?{}?

They said they had considered it but ultimately thought it would be confusing to the public seeing as the sponsoring hotel is on the North Shore.

Why should they move the comp just because CCBC could not be bothered to clean small parts of the beach.

Ah...It is becoming clearer.

The sponsor is also the organiser.

Silly me !!

wrex, there is still sand between that green algae and the sea.

Did CCBC actually refuse to clear away the green algae when asked?
