Just been to Black Cat for fuel.  As I waited at lights before entering the big roundabout to come home a police car drew up alongside and there was a uniformed man and woman on foot crossing the road.  Just seemed a bit odd to.me, so thanks for the info!  And no, I wasn't stopped!

North Wales Police Cadet Leader recruitment is currently open!

We are currently recruiting in the Eastern, Central and Western Areas!

If you wish to improve the quality of life in the community by supporting the development of young people through uniformed Volunteer Police Cadet (VPC) Service!

Volunteering your time as a leader for the VPC is a very personally rewarding thing to do. It will enable you to develop your skills to inspire young people to become good citizens.

Whilst most of our leaders come from the policing family, we welcome adults from all walks of life and particularly encourage those without a policing background.

You will undergo vetting to the highest national standards, enabling you to work alongside young people. You will receive training to support you to develop your own knowledge and skillset.

Being a leader will enable you to have a better understanding of British policing and give you opportunities locally, nationally and even internationally in support of social action.

There are opportunities to become a leader no matter how many hours a week / month you are able to volunteer. You do not need any qualifications to become a leader.

North Wales? crime commissioner said he listened to the public before increasing the cost people pay for the police. Mr Andy Dunbobbin said a ?perfect storm? had pushed up the precept by 5.14%.

However he pledged to make a difference to the people of North Wales, recalling a time when his own family relied on benefits to survive. The police precept is lumped in with each annual council tax rise, which this year is costing each household 31p extra per week.

The rise follows a survey across all six North Wales counties in which residents were asked about policing in North Wales as well as selecting a range of precept increases, ranging from 19p to 35p extra a week.

North Wales Police will receive a grant of ?88.7m in 2023/24 from the UK Government with the rest coming from North Wales Police?s precept, which will bring in just over ?100.2m, amounting to a total budget of ?188.9m.

NORTH Wales Police made close to 500 drug and drink drive arrests during 2022.

NWP's roads policing unit released a video detailing the volume of work completed by the force last year.

Two worrying statistics were that 204 drink drive arrests were made and 272 drivers were arrested for being under the influence of drugs.

In addition to the drug and drink arrests, the roads policing unit revealed that they had sadly dealt with 37 fatal road traffic collisions in North Wales last year.
As a result of that, 19 specialised family liaison officers were deployed. The officer's role is to support families who have lost loved ones during accidents on the road.

A total of 127 investigations were conducted into serious road traffic collisions in the region, with the force stating that "the work doesn't stop when the road re-opens following a collision."

The roads policing unit also thanked the public for their support during the year and revealed that 266 motorists were stopped thanks to information supplied by the people of north Wales.

Other figures of note included 2,509 traffic offence reports being filed as well as officers travelling 650,000 miles during the year.

Cross border criminals travelling between North Wales and Cheshire have been targeted as part of a major police operation. North Wales Police joined forces with Cheshire Constabulary and British Transport Police to disrupt criminals using the border?s main arterial routes.

It saw more than 200 officers deployed across Flintshire, Wrexham and Chester. People took to social media after seeing the huge convoy of police vehicles in the Deeside area earlier today.

Officers patrolled and monitored railway stations across Flintshire, while earlier in the day, North Wales and Cheshire Police executed a number of warrants in the Flintshire area where a stolen motorbike, a sword, drugs and a phone were recovered. Stop checks were made on a number of vehicles suspected to be linked to criminal activity and operating on the roads illegally, with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras used to intercept vehicles known to the police.

THE Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for North Wales, Andy Dunbobbin, reviewed the force?s performance in respect of visibility and engagement at the latest Strategic Executive Board meeting.

The most recent of quarterly meetings, held on February 15, saw the PCC examine areas including

How North Wales Police listens to communities and their concerns.
How Neighbourhood Policing Teams update communities on issues that have been raised.
The arrangements for regular visits to areas to increase visibility and speak to people in their cities, towns and villages.
How North Wales Police can be more accessible to communities using platforms like the force website and Community Alert.

The PCC also had a detailed briefing on how North Wales Police investigates burglary...........
