here's a photo of a storm lashed North Pier, which sold for £900,000 back in 2011:

Good price for a photo!

Blackpool North Pier, was in poor repair when you last reported from there.

Mrs Fester was there two weeks ago, and she tells me it's getting ever worse.

Parts of it are now cordoned off, and those parts that were damaged in the 2013 storms have STILL not been repaired, and are no longer accessible.

We had the pleasure of another stay at the Bulkeley Hotel in Beaumaris this weekend. It was a happy coincidence that they chose to have their fireworks display on the Saturday night, which we watched from our hotel window. With Beaumaris only being a small seaside town, I wasn't expecting an awful lot but have to say it was a fabulous display, better than either Llandudno or Colwyn Bay's! Well done to Beaumaris Town Council for organising such a great event.  $good$

Do they do a Friday roast in Dubai?      :)     If not then I'll have to look in my A-Z  Hollins Travel Guide.       ;D

That meat looks very pink to me

Yes Hugo. Friday is their weekend. It's that time of year again. I am a creature of habit! It was delicious, not too rare.

I was back again at the Chateau Rhianfa for Sunday lunch having used the last of my Travelzoo vouchers.    We had a nice meal again and this time went into the Music room to have our after dinner coffee.
It's the location and features of this old building that make it such a nice experience to have.
Our forum fine diners notably DaveR and Hollins have both  stayed there and had reservations about the fine dining experience that they had there and this was backed up by the couple we spoke to who had stayed in the hotel and opted for the dining experience.
The various courses were very much Nouvelle cuisine and while they enjoyed the food they felt hungry afterwards which was a bit of a let down.
A few weeks ago we stayed at the Raven Hotel in Much Wenlock and sampled a  nine course taster menu there and would recommend the experience to anyone. It was perfect in every way and while we certainly weren't hungry afterwards we weren't bloated either.   As soon as an offer appears again on Travelzoo we'll be back there.

Oh, those lovely blue skies and what a view!
You had better weather than me. Cloudy with showers in Abu Dhabi today.   :'(
Consoled myself with afternoon tea.    :)

Ha! No, I didn't but they gave me a carry out box with the leftovers so they are still there tempting me.
