Help wanted - where to get my i pod fixed locally?
« on: June 02, 2011, 03:27:02 pm »
Hello

I dropped my i pod running today  :-[
And now the damn thing won't turn on.
DOes anyone know of a shop/computer guy locally who would no about i pods and be able to diagnose what's wrong with it?
Someone said it may need the battery or the hard drive replacing or even just re-inserting, but I have no clues as to how to do this on my own, and I can't go another whole day without listening to any Broooooooce at work!

Thanks  8)

Hard drive is probably broken, that's how mine died.

Yep that's what the IT guy at work said - it'll probably need replacing. I fear that might cost nearly as much as just getting a new I pod  :o
Thanks for the help guys !

Might be worth looking for a new iPod on eBay?

Might be worth getting a Nano for when you go running as it's a lot smaller and lighter so less liable to be dropped

Much quicker, easier and possibly cheaper to send it back to Apple. Either ring them or use the online form,  We had to do this last week.  The day after I 'phoned them a pre-paid envelope and packaging arrived. They insure the thing, and redeliver it for a single price which they quote to you at the outset.

If you've not already tried it it might be worth trying to reboot the whole Ipod. Different ways for different models so here's the link to the Apple web page for doing it. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320
