This article in the Daily Post may be of interest to Railway enthusiasts
What an 'absolute stunner' as father and daughter recapture Ffestiniog Railway's golden age
The 'curly roof' carriage was much loved by guards because it was, quite literally, a life-saver

Snowdon Mountain Railway train 'derails' on Yr Wyddfa
Services were halted after the incident in which no-one was injured on the Clogwyn Loop.     Thank goodness for that as the incident could have been much more serious

I came across this short video of the old railway line of Cwm Prysor and it made me realise what a wonderful piece of engineering this was.  It must have been one of the most picturesque train rides in North Wales

The Conwy valley line - Lein Dyffryn Conwy

Blaenau Ffestiniog to Trawsfynydd - Page 1
(this section of track is currently disused)
I came across this article and it might appeal to Railway enthusiasts.     There are some nice viaducts on this line including the one at Llan Ffestiniog.     There is also a very impressive viaduct at Cwm Prysor on the disused railway track from Trawsfynydd to Bala

I am seeing a lot of adverts announcing the new TFW trains at a cost of £800 million, I was curious to find out were they where being made, quite surprised to read........The new Welsh trains in the £800 million fleet are assembled in Newport, South Wales. The trains are made by Spanish manufacturer CAF, who have a factory in Newport. better than China, but a shame the UK cannot make our own, what happened to Britain's heavy engineering? ................... :(

Key Welsh railway to close for 16 days this month and passengers need to be prepared
Tracks and a bridge are being renewed and embankments strengthened

Train passengers in north and mid Wales are being urged to check before they head to a railway station this month. The Cambrian line is closing for a major overhaul from mid-March to early April.

During the 16 days the line is closed, Network Rail engineers will be completing a range of works. They include a track renewal at Machynlleth station that will pave the way for the introduction of TfW’s new Class 197 trains.

Dry weather on the line halts steam train services in Eryri
Services have been altered as a safety precaution

Anyone of a certain age will remember the glory days of steam engines.     Fires all along the tracks  in the Summer.     This railway crosses the road in Porthmadog and goes past and very close to a Petrol Station, let's hope that no sparks fly near there
