New BBC river valley series takes in Conwy and Denbighshire
Throughout the series, Iolo will be met with sightings of rare birds and elusive mammals, from the UK’s smallest bird of prey, a merlin, to a rare glimpse of an animal which was at one point believed extinct, the pine marten. And for the first time in years, wild beavers are spotted in the Dyfi Valley, treating Iolo to an unforgettable encounter with his first wild beaver in Wales.

Iolo Williams in furious rant at 'idiot' jet ski riders for seabird incident on North Wales coast
In the wake of the incident, the TV presenter called for jet skis to be banned in wildlife-sensitive areas

There should be more control on these morons,  there was an incident by Conwy Marina a few years ago when idiots on jet skis drove at Swans on the river and killed one as a result of their idiotic behaviour

Surfing snake spotted on north Wales beach
Close
Who can blame this snake for enjoying a dip in the sea on such a hot day?

The reptile, believed to be an adder, was spotted enjoying the gentle surf at Morfa'r Garreg beach in Pwllheli, Gwynedd.

Adders - the UK's only venomous snake - are most active from spring to October and pose a particular risk to dogs between April and Ju

Lucky to get this with both adults in the pic.  Noisy chicks attracting a lot of attention in Bodnant!

What a lovely photo DVT,   you were so lucky to get that.    My walking buddy Tellytubby is a really keen birdwatcher and he would have loved to have seen the Woodpecker and he was in Bodnant this week
He said that the Laburnam Arch was beautiful and sent me this photo of the arch

The tiny island where puffins are thriving despite global decline

The island is not in North Wales, but it is in Wales and  it is so refreshing to hear about these attractive little birds   I've seen them in Anglesey and on Bardsey Island but not in the numbers that you see on Skomer

WARNING TO ALL DOG OWNERS IN UPPER COLWYN BAY[/size

Thankfully Conwy County Council have placed a number of Doggy Poo Bins at different locations in Upper Colwyn Bay and dogs often go sniffing around at the base of these bins when the dog owner is walking past

The one I want to bring to the attention of dog owners is the Dog Poo Bin in the public footpath that connects Pen Y Bryn Road to Rhodfa'r Grug.    It looks like someone has deliberately sprinkled  Vitax Rose fertilizer around the base of the bin and even left the cardboard packet inside the bin

Yes, Vitax Rose Food can be dangerous for dogs if ingested. Some types of fertilizer, including rose food, contain ingredients that are toxic to dogs, according to PetMD.
