The UK Government is considering introducing regular checks for Prostate Cancer  for men which is a really good thing as sometimes some men have no symtoms of   the illness.
The statistics for Prostate Cancer are shocking,   one in eight men in the UK  will  have Prostate Cancer sometime  in theit lifetime, while Black men fare even worse with statistics of one in four.
The treatment for the disease is continually improving and the normal procedure now is a simple blood test for PSA and depending on the results,  further investigation may be required.
I consider myself among the lucky ones and today I rang the Bell in the Prostate Cancer Unit at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd
This is the tradition when someone has completed their 20 Radiotherapy treatments.    I can only describe my treatment at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd as excellent from start to finish and I can't  thank the dedicated staff  enough for the way they looked after me

Half of Welsh A&E patients waited over four hours while 1 in 6 waited 12 hours or more
Welsh Government said January saw the highest demand for emergency care on record

I was in A & E for 21 hours in 2025  and for 8 hours in January 2026 but the staff work so hard and  under sustained pressure
