Did anyone on this most excellent forum, I wonder, ever work at The Ritz? I spent the summer of 1979 at 39 Mostyn Street, waiting on the huge crowds that would converge on this wonderful town between May and September.
The owner was the late John Dowle, who worked alongside his sister Liz Hughes. Colleagues I recall were: John Jones, Bobby Owen, Sarah Hughes, Steve Hughes, Michael Owens, Alan, Ivan, Lil, Dawn, Carol, Charlie, amongst others whose names are somewhere in the mists of time.
My research shows that the restaurant became the shopping arcade, in 1981.
It’s incredible to think that it’s 41 years since I lived in ‘Court Royale’, in Graig-y-Don, but I’ve never forgotten that time, or the people I met.
It would be great if any of you post on here, or if anybody recalls the names I have mentioned above.
