If seasonal 'flu returns this year, I suspect we're in for a nasty winter.
All the more reason for following the basic three original rules, Hands Face Space, the governments poor decision in not making these rules (mostly) compulsory, is going to prove to be a big mistake, I am sensing changes, as they are now talking about passports for nightclubs etc.

The main purpose is to protect others. If everyone wears one, the risks drop for all.

but are not a replacement for social distancing and hand-washing.Masks can also help reduce virus spread from contagious people with no symptoms.
Cutting virus transmission is important because many people are not fully vaccinated.
Also, some new virus variants appear more transmissible.
