Well said Dave, we all patiently waited behind a chap who apologised for his slowness and said he was shopping for 3 people. Naturally a chap shoved past and tried to jump the queue, but the staff in Aldi firmly told him to take his turn. Well done to Aldi.

A man from Leicester drives 180 to Snowdon to do his daily exercise, that's just unbelievable.        The article doesn't state whether the driver was reported or not for Coronavirus offences which is a pity that that point was not clarified.
The time for educating these type of offenders has long gone and everyone who offends should be prosecuted as we need to have faith in our Police Force.
It will be interesting to see how this coming Bank Holiday will pan out.      The Police and Traffic Wardens should be out in force to make sure that we don't have the same situation as we had in the previous Bank Holiday

Hugo, I wonder whether or not the traffic wardens are still working?

Probably not Bri, but I bet Kingdom Securities would jump at the chance of booking all those idiots.      We'll have to see over the weekend if education of these individuals works or if they really need the big stick

Lockdown restrictions in Wales to continue for further three weeks - with adjustments from Monday

People will be allowed to exercise more than once a day but they must not travel to do so, with the exercise beginning and ending at home.

The second change is to allow garden centres to reopen if they can observe social distancing rules.

Local authorities will also be able to begin planning how to open libraries and municipal recycling centres.
"These very cautious changes will apply to everyone other than the 120,000 people in the shielding group," Mr Drakeford said.

"We continue to urge people who are over 70, or who have an underlying health condition, or who are pregnant, to continue to take extra care."

10:19 ref BBC
Clarity needed on garden centre visits, says police chief
North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Arfon Jones said more clarity is needed to explain whether visiting a garden centre could be regarded as “essential travel”.

He was referring to changes in lockdown restrictions in Wales which, from Monday, will see some garden centres allowed to reopen.

“I was always under the impression that if you were going to travel you had to have a reasonable excuse to do so,” he told BBC Radio Wales.

“It does seem a bit contradictory. Is it essential to go to a garden centre ?But, obviously, if they are opening them, then I would hope that Welsh Government when they issue guidelines about the changes to legislation, that they explain that to us,” said Mr Jones.

Perhaps a few police patrolling the streets wouldn't go amiss to stop the unwelcome Grockles infiltrating the area. Today a car came down Bangor Road into Lancaster Square obviously the wrong way, where it was stopped by Mr M in its tracks. It turned up the entry by the Indian restaurant then backed into Bangor Road nearly hitting another car & sped off. Obviously not a local  &shake&

This should be fun, " locally "  does not appear to be specific, for instance Locally produced goods, anything up to 250 miles is considered local.

16:00 9 May   BBC
Driving to garden centres permitted from Monday
People can drive "locally" to garden centres from Monday, provided they comply to the 2m social distancing guidelines, the Welsh Government has confirmed.

It was urged to clarify whether visiting such centres could be regarded as "essential travel" by North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Arfon Jones.

This was after changes in lockdown restrictions in Wales which will see some garden centres allowed to reopen next week.

A Welsh Government spokesperson said: “As the first minister said yesterday, some very minor adjustments will be made to the existing regulations from Monday which will allow

people to travel locally to garden centres provided they comply with the physical distancing requirements."

A family from Warrington who own a second home in our cul de sac turned up over the weekend. They gardened & cleaned the windows & seemed oblivious to what is going on in the world. They were back out in the garden this morning cutting the lawn & then North Wales Police turn up. Now the blinds are drawn & the car has gone, let's hope they stay away until this is all over & they have been given a fine. I really don't think £60 is much of a deterrent though, what do others think?

I agree the fine is to low, but I think the new rules, are going to result in more people being let off, because they can claim "Ignorance"

The fines are no more than a slap on the wrist to the offender, it's not just that they have broken the rules, they have put other peoples lives at risk and could in fact put more pressure on the NHS
In Wales repeat offenders could only be fined a maximum of £120.00 whereas in England I think that the figure is about £960.00 and it's not good enough but thankfully these fines now seem to be increasing
When a car was parked in a lane by Trofarth recently the owner from Manchester came back to find "Stay at home" written in paint on the car and the Police quite rightly condemned that type of action.
My only comment on that incident is that if the car wasn't parked in Trofarth then the incident would never have happened and the car owner wouldn't be faced with a repair bill of £1000.00    They will certainly not do that again, whereas a fine of £30..00  is no deterrent.

A DP article this morning just shows the difficulties involved in getting the urgency through to the public.

"North Wales holiday park inundated with booking calls after English lockdown relaxed
Golden Sands in Rhyl said some callers wouldn't accept rules different in Wales"

PS   UPDATE

'Scrap the Senedd' - English MP hits out over differing lockdown rules

An English MP has bemoaned the fact that his constituents can’t travel to the seaside in Wales because of differing lockdown rules in England and Wales.

Daniel Kawczynski, Conservative MP for Shrewsbury, added that he felt the Senedd should be scrapped leading to a ‘political union’ between England and Wales.

He said: "The current gap emerging over this crisis results in the Prime Minister saying to my constituents you can now go for a walk on the beach, but you are prohibited from going across the frontier to get to our nearest coast.”
