They did say free, not that it would easy...........

You can now get a free beer to watch Wales take on Portugal in the semi-finals of Euro 2016 tonight.

To celebrate Wales’ amazing exploits at the competition, Budweiser has teamed up with the Daily Post to offer you all a free drink.

All you need to do is buy a paper copy of the Daily Post, cut-out the voucher inside and present redeem it at a participating Tesco, One Stop or Co-Op store before 11.59pm this evening.

But please read the full terms and conditions of the offer before you redeem your voucher.

Now this really is STOP PRESS. Have just heard that GHA buses have gone into immediate administration. That means now. That means that upwards of 250 buses will not leave their six depots tomorrow morning an who knows, maybe 5000 passengers of all ages including many, many school buses will not be running.
GHA are by far the largest privately owned bus company in North Wales, maybe all Wales. They are based mainly in the Wrexham area but stretch out as far as Barmouth and in the other direction well into England. I can hardly believe it. Six depots. Hundreds of employees.
Who can fill this gap? Arriva is the only one, but whether they would want to is another matter.

On a more smaller scale, something similar happened when Padarn folded.  Their services were absorbed by other operators without much fuss.  With a few exceptions (eg the 12 and 13 day time services) most bus services are wholly or partly subsidised by local authorities or Welsh Government so operators are confident of base income.  GHA possibly may have grown too quickly, too soon.

Most of their stage carriage services operate in the Wrexham area where there are numerous smaller operators as well as a significant Arriva presence - so hopefully these can step in and minimise disruption to travellers.
