Pryce Evan Jones
« on: February 04, 2011, 04:43:28 pm »

Hello

I am looking for my ancestors and would like some help.  I am looking for My grandfather/family from Llandudno Wales my grandfather name was Pryce Evan Jones and I have been told he was married and had children.  However he was also courting my Grandma Grace Haines/Haynes and they had 2 children together Carol Mary born 11th Feb 1950 and Jim/James Jones born 1st April 1952.  Carol Mary my mother advised me that he may of been part of the Welsh Assembly and he moved to Aldershot later in life.  I don't have much information at all about him but I would recognise him later in life as I have seen a photo of him.  I think he must of been born roughly 1917 ish and passed about 1979ish but not sure where he was buried.

If you can help at all or have any information that could help me find my family please contact me by e-mail

Kind regards

Hi, welcome to the forum. Was Evan part of his surname or a middle name?

Did  Grace Haynes/Haines live in Llandudno at any time? as this is a more unusual surname it may be easier to track down any connection!

Thank you.

I am not sure but I believe it may be a middle name.  Grace Haines/Haynes lived in Berkshire and i don't think she lived in Llandudno at all.

Im sorry i do not have much information at all about them.

I do believe that Pryce had a wife and children (However I am not 100% sure about this)  but Grace was his mistress.

Pryce Evan Jones was part of the Welsh Assembly/Guards he had 2 children Carol Mary Jones and James Jones who were born in 1950 and 1952.  So I believe that Pryce's DOB should be roughly 1910 - 1925.  Please if anyone can shed some light on anyone that could possibly link to my Grandfather I would really appreciate it.

If you haven't already done it, look for his birth certificate and that will give a home address which would help us.  We would also then be able (hopefully) to find his parents in the 1911 census.

Try Family Search which is free or go to the local library and try Ancestry to get his birth date.  You can then apply either to the Registrar at the Town Hall, Loyd Street, Llandudno - assuming he was born in the area - for a copy of the cert.  Or General Records Office at Southport.  It's probably better and faster to apply to Llandudno.  I think it costs £14 now.
