Religion and religious organisations and Institutions
« on: April 12, 2016, 12:41:50 am »
Here is an interesting article (BBC News), whereby a Charedi (here called Haredi) lady realised she was actually gay from a very young age.  It lays out the struggle she has faced to ever raise the issue with her Mother, and the dilemma of going through marriage and having children to cover it up.  Very sad really.

I suspect all of the Orthodox organised religions can exert huge pressures to encourage conformity. In some she'd have been stoned to death by now. Sadly, the only people who can change this method of thinking are the people who lead the various churches and thy, by their very nature, are seriously averse to change of any sort.
