Two people and dog rescued after yacht runs aground

Abersoch RNLI's volunteer crew were alerted at 12.21pm on August 11. Their B-Class Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat was launched and arrived at the scene at 12.42pm.

The vessel was on passage from Aberystwyth to Pwllheli.

A spokesperson for Abersoch RNLI said: "The lifeboat crew checked the casualty vessel over and it appeared to be watertight. The yacht was high and dry on the rocks and due to the state of tide, was impossible to move it.

Abersoch claims another luxury vessel as speedboat gets marooned
A super sleek 27ft Saxdor 270 left stranded on hard sand at top Gwynedd resort
This morning’s high tide attempt to refloat the speedboat from Abersoch beach reportedly failed. Despite a rope pull from a second boat offshore, the vessel was said to have stayed resolutely on the shoreline.

With tongues firmly in cheeks, there have been local mutterings about “salvage rights”
