On the 10th January 2024  I had a walk with two friends and we walked from the Ogwen Cottage to the Ogwen Bank caravan site.    It was along a quiet country lane where some of the filming for the TV drama Mr Bates and the Post Office was filmed.
I remember the day and date so well because the weather was so atrocious with an icy gale force wind following us all the way, but I remember it more so when I saw the Search and Rescue heliptor searching for a climber who went missing on Pen Yr Ole Wen the day before.

I knew that with the treacherous conditions on the mountain above me that no one would be able to survive there and I followed the search online.     It was months before a search party discovered the body of the missing man but in doing so they also solved a 12 year old mystery
