No guesses ?       People of a certain age will remember passing this building when they went to or from the Holy City?

Guess it is on the road into Penrhynside but i can not remember what was behind it. Probably kick myself when you let us know what it is.

Well done Mull, you're in the right area so that's just one point.

I'm sure that many young men walking from Penrhyn Old Hall to Llandudno would have relieved to have seen the building

Mull got the location right but can anyone remember what the building was behind the door in the wall?

Was it the old toilets at the top of Penrhyn hill by the bus stop?

That's a relief Gwynant as I was starting to think thjat I was the only one who remembered them so well done

The building was the old toilet block at the top of Penrhyn  Hill and they closed down many many years ago.     When I last went there they were in a dire condition, my memory is a bit vague on them but I'm not sure if there was even a roof on the place at the time

I think they were closed around 1985.  The then mayor, Terry Davies of Penrhynside and Town Clerk, Lew Aldridge, were photographed posting a notice there saying the Town Council was seeking a CPO to acquire the toilets following closure by Aberconwy BC. It did not come to anything probably because of the poor condition of the building.

You are quite right Hammy there were at least 8 steps and the drop was about 12 inches as you have said.     Sorry but I can't give you that but your guess was the best one I've had so far           ;D

Sreve,   I don't know exactly how many steps there are but at 14  I'll give you that.   So well done  and Hammy too for having a go
Looking at the photo,  the steps were about 12 inches high as Hammy has said but you can also see other steps there about 6 inches deep that may have helped people to walk down them to the beach

I went to the West Shore this week and it was sad to see it in this state as I can remember how it used to be before the 1993 act of incompetence and vandalism by the Council in 1993

I hadn't noticed this sign before, but then I haven't been in the street for some time.     But what is the name of the street?
