Dave, I would estimate the year at around 1965, based on the cars, the Ford Anglia came out in 1959, so not earlier! I could not see a date in the book.

Fifty years ago, I used to be in the St John’s Ambulance and often worked out of that caravan you can see to the left of the Cenotaph.

I wonder if the fact that there is no Camera Obscura may give a clue to the year.

If memory serves me right, the 'Camera Obscura' was burnt down at one time, if that has any relevance in dating the photo ?

The boat alongside the jetty is the Sunbeam owned by Sam Lloyd Jones. David Whitfield did two U.K. tours one in 1961 the other in 1962 this picture must be 1961 as I think that the Sunbeam was scraped down to the bare wood and varnished for the 1962 season.
I was up the old town last Wednesday (for Harry's funeral) What a state the jetty is in!! $walesflag$

If my memory serves me right, David Whitfield was at Pensarn in July or August 1966.
There used to be a working men's club of some sort opposite Station Street and The Park pub.
I believe there was a bit of a fracas due to him giving some unwanted attention to a lady in the audience.

I don't know about the club you write about being a Working Mens Club. But I certainly remember the club. Fracas. I like that word. I don't know about the night you write about,  but ---- so what?
There was a fracas every night.   Mike
