The Dutch Cafe was up the stairs and had a different windmill.  In my memory it was green but who knows.  The down stairs was a ladies hairdressers run by a Miss Roberts..... I think, it's such a long time ago, ho hum :-[

Some cousins of Blodyn have recently found a series of glass photographic plates, showing Llandudno amongst other places. This one shows Mostyn St outside the Savoy Cinema (simply known as "The Cinema' at that time). Savoy was built in in 1914, so photo must have been taken after that.

Oh dave I've never seen the sheep picture before .  Were they coming down from the farms on the Orme and where do you think they were going?

Perhaps, but not a known one. I've removed the link, anyway.

It's a very old photo indeed, I wonder if they were going up to Wyddfyd Road on the Great Orme.   Along that road are the remains of stone pens where a sheep fair was held annually on 22nd September until Mostyn Estates "legally stole" the common land in Llandudno.  The local people then lost the common land on which they could graze their livestock.

Apparently all the sheep are black?
A particular breed perhaps?

Black Welsh Mountain Sheep.   A special breed and the only all black breed.   Z**
