I agree with DaveR
Also if you have rotated/renamed the photos using your computer you can have this prob.
If you have not done this & your answer to DaveR's question is yes, then back up your photos & format the memory card, preferably using the format function on the camera & not the pc.

Thanks men!

It is my Father in laws camera, and all pictures were taken on the same camera.
If the memory card is flawed, it doesn't seem to affect them being displayed from that same card on the PC.
This means that they 'should' be OK to print them out, which is ultimately all he wants to do with them.

Pcs are more tolerant of card errors than cameras. There will be no prob printing the pics, but  back the card up asap, because if it totally fails you will lose all the pics.
If the card fault is minor, then formatting it will fix the prob, & make the card perfectly useable again.

Thanks Rob, will do.

Memory cards are so cheap these days, I would just replace it rather than attempt to fix it.

This is a fairly common problem and it seems to be related to the way the camera identifies each image on the card. Computers can read it because they don't use the camera's image ID but scan the entire card for image data.

Exploring an abandoned hospital might not be everyone's idea of a pleasant Sunday afternoon jaunt, but it does make for some interesting photos:

The Guide was telling us all about South Stack, North Stack and the Skerries, all of which have various warning devices for shipping on them. The light from South Stack is visible 20 miles away and its only a 150w bulb!

It's a great place to visit, assuming you don't mind the 1000+ steps involved in going there and back from the public road to the top of the Lighthouse itself:

How do I upload a photo...I can't manage to do it ???

How to upload photos to a post:

1) After writing your post, underneath the message box, click on 'Attachments and other options'.
2) Next to Attach, click on the 'Choose File' button.
3) Select the photo file you want to use from my computer's hard drive (it must be less than 4600k in size).
4) If you want to add another photo, click on (more attachments) and repeat the procedure.
5) Click on Post and the message & photo should be displayed.

The photos you have added are are displayed at the end of your post, you dont choose where they go in the post. You can add a maximum of 6 photos per post at present.
