Re: Cars......Repair costs witness a staggering 37% rise.

Motorists are being urgently alerted as vandalism repair costs witness a staggering 37% rise. The trend has been driven by several factors leading to a sharp increase in the cost of repairs, affecting road users and drivers across the nation.

Quotezone's CEO Greg Wilson shed light on the situation, stating: "The significant increase in vandalism repair costs across the UK is a stark indicator of the growing challenges motorists face today. Part of this increase could be attributed to the rising number of electric vehicles on the road, which are often more expensive to repair."

Chinese car giant Chery is weighing up the possibility of building cars in the UK, according to a senior executive.

Its UK head Victor Zhang told the BBC it was a "matter of time" before the company made a final decision.

He said Chery, which is already preparing to build cars in Spain, was determined to take a "localised" approach to the European market.

Mr Zhang denied the company’s exports had benefitted from unfair subsidies.

Chery, which was set up in 1997, is one of China’s largest car companies. It is already the country’s biggest exporter of vehicles, but has ambitious plans to expand further.

To help take that plan forward, it has set up two new brands focused entirely on the international market, Omoda and Jaecoo.

Last month, Omoda was officially launched in the UK. It has begun selling a mainstream SUV, the Omoda 5, in both electric and petrol-powered versions.

It has built a network of 60 dealerships, and hopes to have more than 100 here by the end of the year.

But it is far from the only Chinese manufacturer to see the British market as potentially lucrative.

BYD, which has been vying with Tesla for the title of the world's biggest manufacturer of electric cars, has also opened dozens of dealerships here.

SAIC is already well-established in the UK, selling cars under the classic British MG marque.

A car insurance company has broken down why people living in 20mph zones are more likely to get discounts on their insurance premiums. Insurance company Esure said that drivers in areas with the 20mph limit are likely to see an average of £50 off their premiums compared to people who don’t.

Drivers could face £451 charge as Government brings in new driving laws
The government is planning to introduce new laws which could see motorists handed an extra £130 charge each year

Now wouldn't it be refreshing if the Government had  a go at the dishonest motorists, those drivers who have no road tax,  MOT's or insurance.     Since the abolition of the paper road tax disc the UK has lost over £1 billion pounds in lost revenue.        All the information is on computer so the debt recovery should be easy
