With the summer holidays behind us, Brits are now looking ahead to autumn for their next trip away and Llandudno has been found to be one of the best places to go.

Autumn seems to be a popular time for a holiday, with research from Tripadvisor showing 85% of people have at least two trips planned between September and November.

International holidays are great but with the cost of living continuing to rise, some Brits may be struggling to afford a trip abroad.

Conwy's tourism industry now worth ?1.1bn after Covid pandemic recovery
The industry made just ?372m in 2020

Tourism in Conwy is worth ?1.1bn a year after its recovery from the Covid pandemic, it has been revealed. A Conwy Council cabinet member revealed the figure as the county's executive voted in favour of backing a tourism vision that was first passed in 2019 but needed to be revised after the pandemic.

The plan sets out a vision for tourism for the next six years. The report - the revised Destination Conwy Management Plan - shows the county?s tourist industry made just ?372m in 2020 and ?729m in 2021 when lockdowns were still in place.

The odd reason Lonely Planet has put Wales on list of top 10 places in world to visit in 2024
It's brilliant news for the nation but the reason it's included is a little baffling

Wales has just been named on the list of the top ten places to visit in the world in 2024 by global travel guide Lonely Planet. It's brilliant news for the nation as tourism chiefs work to bring more overseas visitors to the country.

There are a hundred reasons why Wales should be on any global top ten tourism list. These range from its stunning mountainous landscapes to beautiful beaches, historic castles and its language and culture.

But these aren't the reason that the country has made the Lonely Planet's Best in Travel destinations for next year. Wales has been included on the top ten best sustainable places to visit - and given the Welsh Government's commitment to tackling climate change that's a fair shout.

From last weekends Liverpool Echo.................

Cosy village a short drive from Liverpool that's like the Alps
Scenery is strikingly similar to that of Switzerland's Montreux or Interlaken

Not too far from Liverpool awaits an adorable town that's like living in the Alps.

Surrounded by gorgeous mountains, lakes, and lush woodlands, Betws-y-Coed in North Wales is a must-see location for its picturesque nature.

The village acts as the gateway to the Snowdonia National Park and provides guests who venture up to stay with hours of entertainment and activities away from their cabins.

For mountain lovers lucky enough to have experienced the Alps first-hand, this is as close as you come in Britain to something that would not be out of place near Switzerland's Montreux or Interlaken, the Mirror reports.

Visitors will find that in ?Betws? water is a prime attraction, with the much-loved Swallow Falls of Ty?n Llwyn ? considered by many to be North Wales' prettiest spot with all its associated legends ? but also because The River Conwy meets three tributaries here, The Rivers Llugwy, Lledr and Machno flowing in from the west .

A GLOBAL online magazine has rated Wales' first ever 'Whisky Fest' as one of the 'best new things to do in the UK' this year.

Time Out,  published by Time Out Group, ranked the festival, taking place in between November 1 and November 3 2024 at the St George?s Hotel in Llandudno, as the fifth best new thing to do in the UK.

They wrote: "When the dark nights roll in and the November chill hits, warm the cockles at Wales?s first ever whisky festival. Scotland  :-X :-X :-X  has always held the whisky crown, but the likes of the Penderyn and Aber Falls distilleries are helping Wales rise from dark horse to a proper player in the liquor world.

LLANDUDNO has been included on a new list of the 10 best UK destinations for spring travel.

National Geographic has compiled the list for those looking for the perfect escape during the Easter holidays and beyond.

Also among those making the top 10 are Rutland, Winchester, Falmouth and Monmouthshire.

It says of Llandudno: ?A Victorian favourite once billed as the ?Queen of Welsh resorts?, Llandudno has kept much of the charm that made it so popular.

?The curving promenade framing Llandudno Bay, the aroma of fish and chips wafting in the air, pastel-coloured art deco houses lining the seafront and old-fashioned amusements on Llandudno Pier all combine to deliver a quintessential British seaside break.

From the Liverpool Echo..................

Fairytale village not far from Liverpool that's like escaping to the Alps
The stunning Welsh village has been named among the top UK staycations all year around

A beautiful Welsh village has been described as one of the best places to visit in the UK - and it's not far from Liverpool.

It has been listed among the best staycations in the country, due to its "fairytale" scenery, walking trails, quaint pubs and even a secluded waterfall. Betws-y-Coed, in Conwy, has previously been described as Wales' answer to the Alps in winter, thanks to the hikes, fast-flowing rivers and icy waterfalls.

A proposed trial scheme for overnight motorhome and campervan parking at some of Pembrokeshire?s car parks would boost the tourist trade by attracting members of a 37,000-stong organisation, a specialist promotion group has said.

later in the article........
If we stay close to a town we will spend money in the town, the pubs and restaurants where we will have a meal. By preventing overnight parking  and this has happened in Conwy we moved, and the local businesses lost out.
