Two young maids who drowned trying to save dog Llandudno
« on: January 21, 2013, 01:36:10 pm »
Hi everyone,

Fantastic site, I'm trying not to get too distracted!

Can anyone help?
I came across an article about a Cumbrian lady who stayed in Llandudno for a season, circal 1910. Her maids had the task of taking her dog for a walk. Two young girls drowned whilst attempting to save the dog from Llandudno Bay. I don't have the actual dates. I think I saw it originally in the Liverpool Mercury.

Any ideas? This is a long shot I know.

Any info or advice much appreciated!

Vio

I thought for a second it was this similar news story, but this one dates from 1887:

There is an item marked "two lives lost for a dog" from the merseytimes in the 1913 section that sounds very similar.

Hi again,

Just to say a massive thanks for both postings, I didn't expect such a quick response!
The article from the Liverpool Mercury 1913 was the info I needed.
Many thanks and I'll keep in touch.
