 :laugh: I've never worn sandals and never will either, same with shorts (apart from being forced to wear shorts in junior school! )  :D

I was the same, ME, until 10 years ago when Mrs R persuaded me to purchase a pair of Rockport sandals from an Outlet Store in Florida.

They look just like the ones in hollins' top photo and I do love to wear them in hot weather.

BTW, Aldi are currently selling sandals similar to those in hollins' bottom photo for around £10 a pair.

Reminds me of a book I read as a youngster.

It was set in Liverpool in the 1960's.

Looks like the main character, Rocky O'Rouke wore socks with his sandals as I did when I was his age.

The advantages of wearing socks with sandals: They protect your feet from friction sores when walking. They protect your feet from sunburn. People can't see your gnarly toe-nails.
