Just reading the NWWN and see that soldiers are going to "tab" 50 miles blindfolded to raise money for charity.  Whats does tab mean?
While I'm at it what is a click used by US army since Vietnam war I think?

TAB = Tactical Advance to Battle (march).
A "click" is a unit of measurement. Usually 1km.

Martin, and hopefully someone else might find these swiss sheds inspirational as I did when planning mine.

Nice photos, but cold, if your was built last year, it would have fitted nicely with the alpine ones.

It looks like the Yodel operation is being badly mismanaged in a number of ways.

As the website says

"Here comes the revolution. With creative thinking and a cheery smile, we’re changing the way your parcels are delivered."

I think I might add a bit more bubble wrap next time I send a parcel.

I think that's a good idea at any time.

A few years ago a man with a van arrived to make a delivery.  He couldn't find my parcel easily, so started sorting through his van.  Still couldn't find my parcel.  Chucked all the parcels from one pile to another, including those clearly marked "FRAGILE".  Sat on the larger parcels, including those clearly marked "FRAGILE", and rifled through all the piles.  Still couldn't find my parcel.  Went away again.

After that I rather lost faith in a "FRAGILE" parcel being treated gently.

It was another day or two before my parcel arrived.

I despatch parcels involving bottles and jars on a frequent basis.

Often the Post Office lady, (the delightful Caroline at West Shore), asks me if she should attach a Fragile sticker.

I have long since given up on that, and now I just shake my head and reply, 'whats the point?'
After all, even if the Postman gave a damn, the Post Office depot sortation equipment certainly does not.

I recently ordered a Pioneer theatre amp, and what surprised me was the paucity of protective wrapping in which it arrived. The chap who actually delivered it to me was careful enough, but for sure no one else in the delivery chain was.  Mind you, having seen the way luggage is treated at an airport, I'd also be very loathe to put anything valuable in a suitcase.

Ian, I learn something every day.
'Paucity' - a word I have never come accross. Meaning 'Scarcity, a lack of, insufficient, a dearth'...

Hmmm, how to use it? I wonder...  ?{}?

Dave R,I believe that we have drunk a paucity of beer this week?
