Idle curiosity makes me wonder "Why the half a foot?" Anybody any ideas?

To some people 6 inches is very important!     ;)

Well you did ask Hollins !!
Here's the latest-

Visitor---Where do I go to go up Snowdon?
Me-- Do you want to walk or take the train to the summit?
Visitor-- No I want to drive up.

I was wondering if anyone had any interesting projects on the go?
I am always making something, usually knitted or crochet but at the moment we have a bigger project...... a new posh garden shed!
It isn't finished yet but yesterday we had the first lighting of the new woodburner in it. The tiles are the ones I had previously put in to Merddin's bargain section. Nice to be able to make good use of a bargain!

Has anyone got any amusing tales about how they met their partners?
Here is mine......
It was in the mid 70's. I was sharing a house with two other girls. We had regular parties. The one in question was a home brewed beer party. A good way of attracting the boys!
One particular boy came along in a sports car with the beer in proper capped bottles and crate. Everyone else's was in lemonade bottles!
My firend and I took one look at him and commented on what a poser he was, but you've guessed it, he ended up being my husband!

Yes, and it is shortly to have some wonderful framed prints by a renowned local photographer hung on it's walls!

I met my present wife (my second) on a blind date.  Here I would normally say "I was blind and it was the wrong date!" but today I will refrain from such jocularity!

It was in April of 1972.  During our evening together she poured out all her problems and I said that she should find a nice chap, get married and have a couple of kids.    She took the advice on board and we were engaged in the June, married in August and she was pregnant by the end of September!   We had our Son in June 1973 and 2 years later to the day our Daughter arrived.   Now here we are 39 years later (all but 23 days) still going strong!      >>>
