Graphic design/photoshop help needed
« on: November 23, 2012, 08:01:35 pm »
Hello,

I've been stuck here for a little while now, trying to get some holiday greeting cards ordered. While I am trying to upload the files for postcards, I'm told it has insufficient DPI. Can that be changed in any way with a simple Photoshop, or do I need to look for a converter? These designs have been resized for emailing (I thought that would be sufficient for prints), and the raw copies are still on the memory stick. Can anyone kindly let me know if there is a way to "stretch" the DPI's? Thank you!

You can change the DPI by going into Image->Image Size in Photoshop. Does it give a preferred DPI on the photo printing site? I usually export at 240DPI for prints. Bear in mind that you increase the size of the image every time you increase the DPI.

Hi Dave,

I did find the option on Photoshop, thank you for the helping me figure this one out! I think the minimum required is 300 DPI to get them printed, for which I may need to dig up the original size shots.... Thanks again for the details, enjoy your weekend!
