Help! Parking Charge from ASDA Llandudno!!
« on: November 10, 2012, 11:29:32 am »
Has anyone had any experience of the paking gesapo at ASDA Llandudno?
The wife has received a Parking Charge Notice from Town & City Parking.
The letter implies that she was there from 11:37 to 17:33, however she made two separate visits to ASDA that day, once for diesel and later for a loaf, inbetween time she drove to Manchester and back! It's funny how they have missed one of the exit and one of the entrance times!

Does anyone know the legal implications? I think I have seen things about parking on TV and they said that these companies don't have a legal right to charge?

Should we just ignore the letter?

I'd be grateful for any advice....

Just forget it and don't even send any letter to say you have received it.   See previous comments on the Forum.

Looks as if Asda have got a new firm to look after parking. Last week my daughter got a ticket in Asda, Kinmel Bay, which, as you probably know, is only a comparatively small supermarket and their large car park, well I have never, ever seen it full. There is no time limit but my daughter was in a disabled space. Her excuse, she has a very young baby in a large carrycot and the parents and child spaces were all taken.  The carpark enforcers must travel around or they leave blank tickets for the troly collectors to fill in.

ASDA, Llandudno certainly has a full time enforcer.  I know that a certain person who worked in a local shop was allowed to park for as long as she wished.  The "enforcer" first put a dummy ticket on the car and later just recognised the car when he had got used to the number plate.  How's that for double standards?     :rage:

I once spotted a car park man putting a ticket on my car (not asda). It was for parking in a space reserved for coaches. I shot over to him, explained I was a coach driver  in a car awaiting the arrival of my coach.  The attendant said "oh, that's o k, take no notice of it. But, tell you what, leave it on your windscreen. It will frighten off anyone else thinking of doing it." presumably that saved him the effort of. Writing out worthless tickets

The link gives some fairly detailed up to date information on car parking and the charges and "fines" that may be imposed by the companies issuing the requests for payment.  http://jamesm1968.hubpages.com/hub/Private-Parking-Company-PCN-info
