North Wales Car Club announce the 2012 Cambrian Rally, supported by AVS Motorsport of Wrexham, to be held on Saturday 20th October 2012. Based in Llandudno, this event has been organised every year since 1956, making it the longest annually organised, without a break, club rally in Britain!
We are expecting about 140 crews and cars to the town with scrutineering in the Victoria Centre Car Park on Friday afternoon/evening (spectators welcome).
On Saturday morning the cars will line up on the Promenade, the first car starting at 0800 hours and the remainder at one minute intervals. The order of starting will be the "old" Historics (cars pre 1967), followed by the 1400cc cars, then two-wheel-drive with the 4-wheel-drive cars starting in the last group.
From Llandudno they will head for Clocaenog Forest for two stages, then to service at Ruthin. A run then to Penmachno for two stages before returning to Ruthin for their second service. Finally another two stages in Clocaenog after which they'll return to Llandudno.
On arrival at Llandudno there will be the chance of a quick tyre change before tackling the Great Orme Marine Drive stage in the late afternoon.
Finishers will then go over the finish ramp back on the Promenade.
