Colwyn Bay 1940s Festival
The Forties Festival of Food and Fun takes place in Colwyn Bay on Saturday 21st April 2012.
The festival will include many attractions including cookery demonstrations, 1940s street dressing, a replica Spitfire, Tram, 1940s songs, hair & make-up demonstrations, heritage walks, etc.
This has been inspired by the fact that Colwyn Bay played a massive strategic role during the Second World War as the Headquarters for the Ministry of Food for the whole of the UK. All Ration Books, “Dig for Victory” materials, etc., were issued from our small seaside town. So the whole community can enjoy the event, a wide range of attractions are being planned which will include something for everyone.
