Police have denied telling a Wrexham shopkeeper to take down a sign at his store calling thieves "scumbags". Rob Davies put up the sign at his Run Ragged vintage store after losing hundreds of pounds due to thefts.

Mr Davies said he had felt he had no choice but to inform customers why he had put much of his more valuable stock behind locked cabinets. The sign said: "Due to scumbags shoplifting please ask for assistance to open cabinets. Thank you.”

My neighbours CCTV camera picked up the images of two shady characters walking in the early hours in Pen Y Bryn Road shortly before the car was stolen in St Andrews road
