                                                Everton 1   Arsenal  1

It was a good result for Everton against a strong Arsenal side  but Arsenal's faint Premier League title hopes suffered a potentially fatal blow as they were held to a draw at Everton.

The result means leaders Liverpool require only 11 points from their remaining eight games - starting with Fulham on Sunday - to guarantee themselves the title.

                                                            Fulhan   3   Liverpool  FC  2
Liverpool's 26-match unbeaten run in the Premier League came to an end as Fulham beat them at Craven Cottage.

Arne Slot's side had gone ahead through Alexis Mac Allister's superb 25-yard strike but three Fulham goals in 13 minutes turned the game on its head before half-time.

                                   Nottingham Forest  0   Everton  1

A great away win for Everton
Abdoulaye Doucoure scored a dramatic 94th-minute winner as Everton dealt Nottingham Forest's Champions League hopes a huge blow with victory at the City Ground.

Forest were unable to find a breakthrough and the contest looked to be heading for a goalless draw, but the Blues had other ideas as substitute Dwight McNeil laid a pass through to Doucoure to coolly slot home a late winner.

Liverpool  FC   2      West Ham Utd  1

Liverpool moved to potentially one win from the Premier League title as captain Virgil van Dijk's late header helped them beat West Ham United at Anfield.

Victory means that if Arsenal lose at Ipswich next weekend, the Reds can wrap up the title by beating Leicester.

Mohamed Salah, who signed a new two-year contract at Liverpool this week, provided the assist with a splendid pass for Luis Diaz to open the scoring on 18 minutes.

Van Dijk signs new Liverpool contract

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has signed a new two-year contract with the club.
The 33-year-old centre-back's previous contract had been set to expire at the end of the season.
But the Dutchman has joined forward Mohamed Salah, who signed a two-year extension last week, in committing his future to the club.

Man Utd  5   Lyon  4        after extra time

Ruben Amorim made a pretty significant point in the aftermath of his side's staggering 5-4 comeback win against Lyon.

A point that underlined the high stakes game his first part-season at Manchester United has become.

What an exciting finish to the game,   I missed the best bit of it as I left the pub when Lyon were leading 3 --2      :(

Unfortunately I had to take him back home at half time as he had an attack of vertigo.     I came back and saw the second half and a bit of the extra time but left before all the action started
It was a shame I missed the end because it's not often you see Utd winning a game this year!           8)

De Bruyne 'bit surprised' by no Man City contract offer

I'm slightly shocked by that too,  he's been their best player for many years and at 33  he must have a few good seasons left in him
"I have not had any offer the whole year, they just took a decision," said De Bruyne.

"Obviously, I was a bit surprised but I just have to accept it. Honestly, I still think I can perform at this level like I'm showing, but I understand clubs have to make decisions."

Wolves safe as Sarabia strike secures win at floundering Man Utd

United's performance could not have been in greater contrast to their thrilling efforts in midweek against Lyon.

They have now lost 15 games this season, more than last term and their worst since 1989-90, when they lost on 16 occasions.

'People laughed when we said goal at Wrexham was Premier League but we weren't kidding'
Ryan Reynolds releases statement after historic third promotion in a row

Ryan Reynolds has said Wrexham have made "history" despite doubters believing him and fellow co-owner Rob McElhenney were either joking or crazy to think their dreams of being in the Premier League could be possible.

The club on Saturday earned a place in the Championship with their third promotion in a row, bringing them one step away from the Premier League.

Hugo I think next season the aim has to be to settle into the championship and avoid relegation,  hopefully they can win promotion in about 2/3 seasons after.   From where they have come from playing in front of 900/1200 fans to this. Brilliant.

You're right Norman and what those two guys have done for Wrexham FC  is brilliant but they have also been good for the town and for the surrounding area too.     Let's wish them all the best for next season
