Over 650 drivers caught exceeding 20mph in February

THE NUMBER of drivers caught exceeding Wales' 20mph speed limits increased again during March, figures have revealed.

The majority of residential roads throughout Wales changed from being 30mph to 20mph last September.

This was, according to the Welsh Government, to help 'save lives'.

But, the move has been heavily criticised by members of the public, politicians and more since it was introduced.

An 'engagement process' was launched in January of this year between North Wales Police, GoSafe and other relevant authorities to ensure drivers were sticking to the new limit.

Biker chose wrong car to overtake on the A470 in expensive mistake
Motorcyclist regretted decision to pass this vehicle on Gwynedd road
How many times have we seen that happening?    I've no sympathy whatsoever with the rider and what's this with the "false plates"  I would have expected the bike to be seized for that illegal action

Hammy:
I think the article referred to 'illegal plates' rather than 'false plates' and looking at the picture it was likely to be illegal due to it being smaller than that allowed by 'construction and use' regulation.

WORK to install two new toucan crossings on the A470 is underway.

Work to make 'active travel' changes started in January on Marl Lane and A470.

New paths and kerbs on the A470 have been installed and on Marl Drive, work has started on a shared use path, new kerbs, and crossing points.

A spokesperson for Conwy County Borough Council said: "Work is continuing on this active travel route. Our contractor has installed the new path and kerbs on the A470 and is now working on two new toucan crossings.
