ALDI is looking to recruit more than 500 new apprentices across the UK in 2024, including in North Wales.
Applications are now open for the supermarket?s apprenticeship scheme, with opportunities across stores, buying, logistics and HGV driver roles.

Aldi recently announced new rates of pay for all store and warehouse colleagues, with pay for some apprenticeship roles rising by up to 37 per cent.

Lisa Murphy, Training and Development Director at Aldi UK, said: ?We?re on the lookout for hardworking and driven individuals to bolster our Aldi team.

update on above............

MORE than 1,000 people flocked to one of the biggest employment exhibitions North Wales has seen.

The third annual Conwy Job Expo brought together in excess of 1,110 attendees with up to 90 leading organisations at The Barn, Eirias Events Centre, Colwyn Bay.

It exceeded all expectations, shining a light on career opportunities and securing permanent and temporary positions for many candidates.

Among those in attendance were Abergele?s Manorafon Farm Park, North Wales Police, Llandudno Pier, British Army Careers Centre, and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

?The feedback we?ve had has been positive, particularly as a lot of the companies had vacancies and were able to pre-interview candidates, which was great from both sides.

?The workshops we held at Jobcentre Plus in advance of the expo helped job seekers prepare for this important event with top tips on how to stand out to exhibitors and increase their chances of success in finding their dream job.

?This proved invaluable, with many also taking up the follow up one-to-one support with CV and job applications, so that?s something we will look to do again in the future.

?Thanks so much to everyone who came along on the day, notably the exhibitors who showcased the amazing careers available right on our doorstep.?

Jane Cook, the DWP's employer and partnership manager for Conwy, added: ?What makes Conwy Job Expo so special is the very real opportunities that are out there, and the platform prospective candidates had to discover so many different sectors, and discuss with top employers whether it?s a career for them.

?The results spoke for themselves, both in the number of people who attended, and the successful links built between recruiters, educators, and private and public sector organisations.

?Once again, thanks so much to everyone who came along to this year?s event, it was a fantastic day.?

EMPLOYERS will benefit from a new recruitment programme that guarantees candidates will be suitable for the jobs they are advertising.

Conwy Employment Hub?s Guaranteed Interview Scheme is designed to build confidence among jobseekers and streamline the application process for companies looking to hire staff.

Those already signed up to the hub?s employment and training services can capitalise on the initiative, and they are hoping more private and public sector organisations will join them.

Among those already registered are Llandudno Pier, Alpine Coaches, Conwy County Borough Council, and hotels in Llandudno including The Imperial and St George?s.

Clare Kingscott, employer engagement officer with Conwy Employment Hub, revealed a successful pilot of the scheme led to it being rolled out further.

?We have had so much positive feedback, this is a fantastic opportunity for jobseekers and HR teams across the county,? said Clare.

?We have offered a bespoke service for local employers for some time, but this takes it to the next level and will really enhance their recruitment processes.

?This scheme attracts more candidates and widens the pool of candidates we can place in front of the recruiting business or organisation, but they will have been pre-screened by us, so only applicants who match up with the position will be put forward for interview.

?We already have some top local companies on board from a variety of industries, so the scheme is off to a flying start.

?It?s a fantastic initiative, especially for employers, so we are encouraging as many as possible to get in touch and take advantage of this opportunity, no matter how big or small your business or organisation is.

?This is a free service, and we want as many people as possible to benefit from it.?

The move follows the hub?s successful Conwy Job Expo, which welcomed more than 80 employers and in excess of 1,100 jobseekers to Eirias Events Centre in Colwyn Bay earlier this year.
