Questions about shops, pubs, cafes and chippies

We all know about Hoosons Chemist on the corner of Mostyn Street/Gloddaeth Street but does anyone know where a Hoosons Cafe was in Mostyn Street?

In the 1929 directory there   Edwin Hooson M.P.S. Chemist is  number 98 Mostyn street , and a T Esmor Hooson  Ltd Grocers, Cafe, etc  at 96 Mostyn Street.  and  T Esmoor Hooson Grocer at 7 Mostyn street,

Good work, Sue.  Hooson's Cafe at 98 Mostyn Street turns out (unsurprisingly) to be the first floor of Hooson's Chemist (what is now the Asia restaurant). Hooson's grocers at 7 Mostyn street is now Barnacles Chip Shop.

Years ago Hoosons owned the whole corner from their shop round in to Bodhyfryd Road.  Think Nigel from the newsagents now owns and rents out those little sshops.

What on earth is "running Gait Ananlysis" or am I just being dim.

There used to be one at the bottom of mostyn street but it closed some time ago. Have you tried a visit to a podiatrist? I went to one some time ago and was diagnosed as an "over pronator" so was able to buy running shoes to correct it. They might be able to help you.

Bangor Uni  have a Post Graduate department specialisinghttp://www.postgraduatesearch.com/bangor-university/52362248/postgraduate-course.htm in this area.

As with all these types of courses I believe they would be on the lookout fora  practical application of their threories and may therefore examine members of the public to gain experience.

Rhyl had a "Hoosons Cafe" . It disappeared some time in the 1970s or 80s. An unusual name, anybody know of a connection?

If I remember right the bookmakers are now the chinese opposite Natwest and Parry's is now the Post Office

If you have a look at page 3 of "Everything to do with Conwy" and the list of shops and businesses, there is mention on Bangor Road of Parrys Watch and Parrys Pot Shop. Don't know if these are relevant. One was opposite the Albion where I think Anthony Flints' estate agents is now, and the other either next door or across the road.

Parry's is now the Post Office, Parry Watch is the Travel Agent, Confusing I know
