I wonder if Mostyn Estates will again suggest a park and ride from Bodafon Farm so that they can get  their greedy mitts on the land for building further houses?

Conwy's soaring parking fees leaves Great Orme site swamped and forced to act
'Some people were being sent here by local hotels'

From the start of June, a parking charge of £2 for up to six hours was introduced, overseen by Parking Eye. Some regulars have already been caught out by the switch: this week a dad watching his son on the ski slope complained of receiving a £100 fine – reduced to £60 if paid within 28 days. “I always thought it was free as have never paid before,” he grumbled online.             :o

Police tape off road amid major emergency response to 'collision'
An appeal has been launched following the incident in Llandudno

Police have launched an appeal after a "collision" in Llandudno yesterday (Saturday). Officers attended Cwm Place at around 8.25pm, following reports of a SEAT Altea, being involved in a collision and area was taped off by police, amid a large emergency response.

Does anyone know exactly what happened in my old street?

Two women in hospital after lamp post car crash
I've just seen this on BBC Wales news

Two women have been taken to hospital after a car crashed into a lamp post.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Cwm Road in Llandudno, Conwy county, at 20:30 BST on Saturday.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, however the extent of the women's injuries is not yet clear, said North Wales Fire and Rescue.

Cwm Place it is so well done Norman.      Trust the Daily Post to get the article wrong

I went on Google street view and didn't recognise my old street.    The lampost is outside Neville Southall's old house but for some reason on street view Nev's house is blurred out.        I had a look at my old home and the 1936 pebble dash rendering is unchanged unlike most of the other houses there.
Any idea what happened for the driver to hit the lamppost so hard that they end up in hospital ?

'Essential' Llandudno phone mast plan approved
'We pride Llandudno on being a Victorian resort, but that doesn't mean we have to live in the Victorian ages when it comes to technology'

Plans to install mobile phone antennas on the roof of Venue Cymru have been approved by Conwy ’s planning committee - despite objections from planning officers. The application, submitted by Cornerstone, was granted conditional planning permission at a meeting held at the council’s Coed Pella HQ last week.

The telecoms company sought permission to install six new antennas on two steel frames on the roof of the council-owned Venue Cymru building in Llandudno. But planning officers had recommended the application be refused, citing concerns from the council’s conservation officer.

Woman fights for life after Llandudno crash as driver arrested
The crash happened on Saturday evening and sparked a major emergency response

I couldn't understand how this accident could have happened in my old street as the street is narrow and on a curve at this point but:-
The driver – a 23-year-old woman - was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving with no insurance.

My thoughts are with the passenger and I hope that she survives this accident

The £10m Llandudno redevelopment opposed by thousands because of one thing
While everyone backs the building's transformation many have issues with what could go inside

But one element of the masterplan has seen protests on the street, a well backed petition and angry letters of objection. This all relates to the proposal to relocate the town's library from Mostyn Street in the centre of the resort to the revamped centre on the promenade at Craig-y-Don.

Llandudno library move a step closer despite 'grave concerns' over savings
A senior council officer said she found it 'quite disappointing and dismaying' concerns had been 'whizzed out of a hat'

Conwy Council's head of finance Amanda Hughes said moving the library would save the authority £126K a year, costs which came from a service charge to landlord, national non-domestic rates, utility bills, and cleaning. "If the library was moved, we are confident we would save over £100,000 of these costs,” she said.

I'm at a loss to understand the logic of it all.       Llandudno owned the Library in Mostyn Street, yet sold it a few years ago to Mostyn Estates ( price not known)          Then theCCBC rented or leased the library,  presumably at the rate of £126K per annum.
Once it's gone from Mostyn Street it has gone forever
Just like the sand on the North Shore and the cycle track on the West Shore they have gone forever.      CCBC don't seem to learn anything from all the mistakes they have made

I couldn’t get to coed pella last night but watched the stream  the 3 Llandudno councillors were very good.   They council say they would save £125 k a year.     We subsidise the venue by £900+ k a year.  We also subsidise the porth erias over £300 la year.  The meeting was a farce you had more of the committee sat at home on zoom and they had no interest what so ever.  It’s about time these out of town councillors realised Llandudno brings into Conwy the biggest income  none of them have any real vision which is a shame..

I tested out Llandudno chippy some say is the 'best ever'
Taste test at Barnacles fish & chip bar, Llandudno

You'll find Barnacles fish and chip shop and restaurant in the centre of Llandudno. It is quite frankly in the epicentre of town, being a short walk from the railway station and North Shore, North Western Gardens ("Bog Island"), a second hand bookshop and the Premier Inn.

I spent day in Llandudno and tried out things I've not done for years
I looked at the town from a tourist's perspective
Many of us have enjoyed the attractions of North Wales' premier seaside town - but often when we were much younger. With the summer holidays coming up, I revisited Llandudno - dubbed the Queen of Welsh Resorts - to see whether they still have the same allure, and was pleasantly surprised.

Llandudno has upwards of 2.8 million day visitors a year according to a Great British Tourism Survey from some time ago, giving the area a huge economic boost.
