Llandudno plan for nearly 30 homes in centre of seaside resort with plea over flood risk
The properties would be built on a sports pitch that's in a 'poor condition'

Plans have been proposed for nearly 30 homes in the centre of Llandudno. Grŵp Cynefin and First Choice Housing Association want to erect the properties on a sports pitch that has been left in a "poor condition".

The land is next to the Ty Hapus community building behind the giant Asda store with access off Cwm Road. The 29 new homes would be social housing for let.      Let's hope that young local people get priority

So what they are saying none of the houses that have been built in the last 80 + years shouldn’t have been built.  😤😂😂

Re: What's Llandudno Like Right Now?.....Former social club demolished

A FORMER social club on Llandudno's West Shore was demolished today April 8, as the site makes way for new apartments.

Workers could be seen at the old West Shore Social Club building, on Bryniau Road, today as the building was knocked down.

In its place, 12 residential units (across three floors) will be built, after planning permission was secured in November.

Described as a “dilapidated” building with asbestos on site, the social club has lay empty for several years, with efforts for housing to replace the site dating back to 1998.

PLANS to introduce parking charges along the promenade between Ty'n y Ffrith Road and Nant-y-Gamar Road in Llandudno has been met with upset and anger.

Conwy County Borough Council have put forward proposals which will see the Controlled Parking Zone extended to the lengths of The Parade between Ty'n y Ffrith Road and Nant-y-Gamar Road, a distance of about 600 metres.

If approved, between May 1 and September 30, motorists would have to pay £5.50 to park for up to four hours and £7.50 for more than four hours. .............. https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/25094533.craig-y-don-group-voice-anger-proposed-parking-charges/

MORE than 1,000 vehicles will be arriving into Llandudno during the May bank holiday weekend when the town’s annual transport festival returns next month.

Running for more than 30 years, the festival, at Bodafon Fields, is the largest of its kind in Wales, and will again run concurrently with the town’s Victorian Extravaganza, during the bank holiday weekend of May 3-5.

As usual, there will be a wide array of exhibitions, including of lorries, buses, tractors, motorbikes, cars, stationary engines, auto jumble, trade stands and more............ https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/25110990.llandudno-transport-festival-2025-will-host-1-000-vehicles/?ref=rss&IYA-reg=49560bcd-5a9c-47f0-8fc5-ba2e71710589

Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza in 2025
THIS year’s Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza will again not feature its usual daily midday parade, it has been confirmed.

The three-day event will be held during the bank holiday weekend of May 3-5, and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

But the 12pm parade has not taken place at the event since 2022, and the event organisers have now confirmed it won’t be returning in 2025.

It typically saw a wide range of groups and vehicles walk through the town’s main streets.......... more photos https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/25111838.no-daily-parade-llandudno-victorian-extravaganza-2025/?ref=uber_tsb&lp=1

THE Victorian Extravaganza returns to Llandudno this bank holiday weekend (May 3-5), in what is the 40th anniversary of the first event.

A free event, it features street entertainment, vintage rides, modern attractions, steam engine exhibits, musical performances, and more.

Though, the usual daily midday parade, absent at the event since 2022, has been confirmed as again not taking place this year.

Here’s a run-down of the entertainment on each day of the extravaganza:..https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/25126007.llandudno-victorian-extravaganza-return---expect/

'Naive' to think removing 200K visits to Llandudno high street won't impact retailers
Council's proposals will 'damage high street'

Is CCBC  bonkers or just stupid?    They seem to have it in for Llandudno with all their other hair brained ideas for the town

Outcry over 'absolute madness' move of library from high street to seaside venue
More than 1,800 have signed a petition opposing the move from Llandudno's Mostyn Street to Venue Cymru, as readers also raise their concerns
