Hugo you are correct. The youth club did look that big on the outside. But it was great inside,  you would come out at 10 ish. Greasy lils or billy Mac?s and all walk home together. No fighting causing trouble,    Mostyn est have a lot to answer in our town.      They have got their way with bodafon,   I was told last week the guy who has it now his son had a great plan to take it over,  put the plans to mostyns.  He got a one word reply.    No.  😡

Norman, the farm is on an existing lease but Mostyn Estates has been trying to buy back the remainder of the lease for many years.    The tenant farmer has done a good job with the farm but has been fighting a losing battle with Mostyn Estates who want the lease back
We know that Mostyn Estates is only interested in making Bodafon Fields unviable as a farm so that they can build houses on the land.     They have no interest in doing anything  for the people of Llandudno.

A person has been taken to hospital following a crash in Llandudno. The collision, which involved two cars, took place on Colwyn Road beside the Llandudno Promenade and outside the RNLI Lifeboat station, shortly after 1pm today [Wednesday].

The road remained open with delays while emergency services attended the scene. The casualty was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd by ambulance for further treatment.

Mention of the two open air swimming pools brings back memories for me. I remember both of these and used to enjoy the Deganwy Lido as well as the Rhos on Sea pool. These were packed in the summer months and very well used by children of all ages. It was a pity they were closed and the land used for building. The housing development in Deganwy was pretty grim in my opinion. I have read that lidos are back in fashion and money is being spent to renovate those that are still in existence today.

Double decker bus badly damaged after crashing into wall in Llandudno
It is understood several passengers were on board the bus at the time of the crash

A double decker bus was left badly damaged after crashing into a garden wall in Llandudno. St Margarets Drive, off Nant-y-Gamar Road, was partially blocked this afternoon after the Arriva number 12 bus hit the wall as is drove down the narrow road.

Images from the scene showed the bus having made contact with the edge of the wall. Several windows appear to have been smashed following the crash.

Is there any update on that accident?     I didn't think that the No12 buses would go by St Margaret's Drive but then I don't use the buses often

Thanks anyway Steve.      I've had a quick look at the Arriva route and it doesn't go anywhere near St Margaret's Drive so it's a mystery as to why that accident happened

Re: What's Llandudno Like Right Now?....Llandudno Moon
« Reply #8858 on: March 12, 2023, 10:17:11 am »
Careful planning ? and a bit of luck ? paid off handsomely for a photographer who set out to capture this week?s Worm moon over Llandudno. The resulting image has vowed social media audiences with its otherworldly appeal.

Anglesey-based Tom Last, 56, specialises in astrophotography and has previously captured spectacular sun and moon rises over places like Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Tryfan and Bangor Pier. For his latest project, he chose the Conwy seaside resort of Llandudno which, being so low-lying, required ultra-precision.

Tom, from Llandegfan, also captured time-lapse images of the moon?s rising over the town and beyond the Great Orme. For the moon to take centre-stage, looming huge over the town, he used an 800mm prime lens positioned 16km away on Lleiniog beach between Beaumaris and Penmon on Anglesey's southeast coast

Re: What's Llandudno Like Right Now?.....New Betws-y-Coed and Llandudno bus
« Reply #8859 on: March 14, 2023, 09:59:18 am »
A NEW bus service is to operate between Betws-y-Coed and Llandudno, following the discontinuation of a similar route by the same company.

Llew Jones Coaches has launched the 19X service, which operates three times daily, Monday to Saturday, and is free of charge until April 7.

The company previously ran the T19 service, between Blanaeu Ffestiniog and Llandudno, but that came to an end on February 11 after being in use for 18 months.

The 19X service stops at the following places:
Betws-y-Coed, Platform 2
Zip World, A470
Watling Street, Llanrwst
Cross Keys, Glan Conwy
Llandudno Junction, Platform 5
Hospital Road, Llandudno
Llandudno, Stop B/Y

Llew Jones said its decision to end the T19 service was due to it becoming ?increasingly financially unviable?.

Janet Finch-Saunders, Aberconwy MS, then launched a petition calling for Welsh Government, Conwy County Borough Council, and Gwynedd Council to cooperate to offer a package of financial support to save the T19 service.

'Good chance' Bodafon Farm Park will remain family business

However, the 64-year-old, who also runs the Penrhyn Arms in Penrhynside, said he hopes it remains as "some sort of family oriented business."

He said: "I don?t know if it will, but I think there is a good chance as it does lend itself for doing that.

"People are probably worrying a bit much, especially those that think when I go the bulldozers are going to move in.

I have met Mark Roberts a number of times and and he's a really nice guy who has put a lot of time and effort into improving the farm and I wish him all the best in his Penrhyn Arms business.
However I think that he is being very diplomatic and over optimistic with regard to the future of the farm and the farmland.
I hope to be proved wrong but Mostyn Estates will not give up on the idea of building on the farmland, because after all they have given a slice of the farmland to Anwyl Construction to build a number of houses on the farmland

A well-known cab firm boss is launching a new taxi operation in Llandudno. Chris O?Neal is behind the Premier taxi name in Bangor - one of the biggest cab firms in north west Wales.

His previous operation, Premier Cars Bangor Ltd, went into liquidation last summer after being ?battered? by Covid and hit by legislation changes over self employed drivers. It left liabilities of nearly ?294,000.

But he formed Premier Group North Wales and says that this had proved a success as the economy emerged from the pandemic. Now he will launch an offshoot of the Premier brand from Council Street West in Llandudno - which he says will mean the brands will now cover from Llangefni to Colwyn Bay.

He says he plans to modernise the offer in Llandudno with digital booking points at hotels and hospitality venues so people can book them on an app.
