I've booked to go to Plas Rhianfa in May, looking forward to it.

I do hope you enjoy it.
We had a disappointing experience last week regarding Plas Rhianfa.
We phoned up to book 2 rooms for one night as a last minute treat for a couple of friends of ours and us as we thought they would really like it.
I discussed the 2 rooms we would like and the receptionist said she would ring me back in 10 minutes with the prices.
She didn't ring back and I had to go out so my husband rang again in the afternoon but they had  no recollection of my call  and were unsure of the rates. I phoned again the following morning and the manager answered. I explained what had happened. He said he couldn't confirm anything because the booking system was down but he gave me his personal assurance that he would call back as soon as it was working again. The booking was for the following day. I haven't heard anything since and as you can imagine we didn't go. It was all quite surprising and very disappointing so I hope they are more on the ball when you go. The reviews are still excellent.

That is disappointing to hear. Thinking about it, I haven't received an email confirmation of my booking, although I was assured yesterday it would be sent out immediately.

I used a Travelzoo voucher, which seemed a pretty good deal. An upgraded sea view room, breakfast and £45 credit against extras for £129. When I phoned to book, the lady told me that Dinner was also included, which was even better! I was also offered an Upgrade to one of the Suites (the one with the circular bed) for £30.

Well done. When we were looking last week the online rate for that room was £240 dinner, bed and breakfast.
Enjoy it!

I am back from another stay at the Lodore Falls Hotel in Borrowdale. It was a treat for mum and I to celebrate (not sure that is the right word) my 60th.
The food was really good again.
All these photos were taken from our room. We spent ages looking at the changing light and weather conditions. Gorgeous view.

A belated 60th Birthday wish Hollins.   Hope that you told Fireman Sam before you lit all those candles on the cake!    +}}{-- :__)+    ;)

Everyone should have a Nile Cruise at least once in a lifetime Hollins. The colours you see at dawn and dusk are breath taking. Plus there is all that history to take in as well.  8)
