This photo shows the view from the restaurant at Bodysgallen Hall.
The lunch is excellent. £19.50 for 2 courses and £23 for three. I had ham hock terrine to start followed by roast cod with pea risotto. My friend had the rhubarb trifle. It was all delicious and the service friendly and professional.

It is the Estalagem da Ponto do Sol on the island of Madeira.

We were looking for somewhere to go for Christmas one year and we saw a newspaper article about places which weren’t charging a fortune over the Christmas period.
We had a good week walking along the many levadas.
The hotel is best for its views. The room was basic but fine. The food was a bit up and down. I have just checked on tripadvisor and the reviews say pretty much the same as it was like for us about five years ago. It always amazes me that if customers are  all agreeing the food needs improving that the hoteliers don’t do something about it.
Still with views like that........

Here's a real view!  It is the Swatch roundabout in Albufeira!  Lots of traffic and people to watch whilst sipping a can of Tango!

This is a view from the Ambassador Hotel in Scarborough where I stayed this week. It's in a prime elevated cliff top location above the Spa Complex.
Our bedroom unfortunately looked the other way and the view wasn't impressive.      :(

We stayed in The Ambassador a couple of times, it had become quite tired and faded over the years.
The buffet breakfast was very nice,  maybe things have improved in the last 3 or 4 years? but it was a struggle to give it 3 stars.

I don't know if they have done any renovation since you were there Fester but we were pleased with every thing there. The rooms were clean, the staff very friendly and efficient and the food we had was very good. We had intended to have some meals out at Ask the Italian Restaurant by the Harbour as we had one of those tastecards that let you have two meals for the price of one but as the hotel meals were so good we didn't bother with the card.
St Nicholas (opposite the Grand) where we stayed last time we were there on a coach trip was something else. The rooms were disgusting and the evening meal inedible and that's how we found the Ask Restaurant because we had to go out for a decent meal.
Not surprisingly the place was closed down soon afterwards and there is a Travel Lodge there now.
