Llandudno Pier

THESE amazing drone photos show Llandudno's famous Ferris wheel being pieced back together.
The 69-foot tall structure arrived at Llandudno Pier over the weekend. It made its annual trip to Sheffield ahead of Christmas 2023.
It is now in the process of being reassembled and the ride is on schedule to open towards the end of next week.

THE FAMOUS Llandudno Pier came narrowly close to being named the best pier in the UK.
The pier came second in the annual UK Pier of the Year awards, which was won by Cromer Pier with Swannage Pier coming in third.
The awards are run by the National Piers Society, whose chairman Tim Wardley said of the winners: "I was delighted to discover Cromer are once again very worthy winners, with the wonderful piers of Llandudno and Swanage running a very close second and third.
"Our members are certainly a knowledgeable group of people which makes the award so special each year, voted for by the largest membership of pier experts and enthusiasts in the world."

A HUGE project to refurbish the Happy Valley entrance to Llandudno Pier has been unveiled.
This will involve the replacement of three x 16 metre girders, two x 10 metre girders, side fencing and the entire wooden decking from the entrance all the way up to the Ice Cream Kiosk.
The entire section will be scaffolded from the top all the way underneath supported by a further two x 18 metre girders.
Paul Williams, Pier General Manager, said: "We will confirm a start date and potential opening date nearer to the time and will update the general public as the work progresses.
